Low Elements Course-

The Low Elements Course provides a wonderful opportunity for experiential learning.  Challenges, ranging from simple to very difficult, encourage groups to utilize teamwork, communication, problem solving and trust to accomplish their goals.  The elements include the Trolleys, Trust Walk, Whale Watch, Moon Walk, Spider Web, Nuclear Fence, Lava Pit, Maze, Wall, and Trust Fall. 

 

                 

 

Zip-Line

Get ready to take a step out in faith!  The zip-line challenges guests to get out of their comfort zone and step out into the air. A trained staff member will lead your group through all the steps to enjoy the ride of lifetime on our 350 ft. zip-line.  The zip-line was installed and is annually inspected by Signature Research Inc., a level four vendor certified by the Association of Challenge Course Technology.  This activity will help increase self confidence, self esteem, communication and trust.

                                                                

         

Rappelling

Let a trained staff member take you rappelling off our 25 ft. bluff overlooking the Gasper River.  This activity will help the individual push their limits in a safe, controlled environment.  Rappelling helps increase self confidence, trust, communication, and community. 

 

 

 

Teambuilding Activities-
Gasper River Catholic Retreat Center offers numerous and enjoyable teambuilding activities for groups to improve trust, team work, and communication skills.  Sessions can last from one half hour up to three hours or more, and can be customized to meet your group’s specific needs or requirements.  These initiatives encourage the members of each group to share ideas, act on those ideas and then evaluate what needs to be done next

 

     

 

 

Campfires-
The facility also offers groups the opportunity to reflect on the day around a campfire.  The fire circles are located along the river and provide the perfect setting for s’mores, story telling, sharing, and reflection of the group’s experience.

 

 

 

Athletic Activities-
Gasper River offers a wide variety of athletic challenges for our guests.  Two lighted volley ball courts, a lighted basketball court, two horse shoe pits, and a miniature golf course provide many ways to meet the competitive need.  Gasper River will provide all the equipment you may need for these activities.

 

      

 

 

 

Fishing-
The Gasper River offers some of the best fishing in the state.  Small mouth bass up to three pounds have already been caught by guests.  Come and see what kind of fish stories you can leave with.  The Gasper River Catholic Retreat Centers observes a strict catch and release policy.

 

                

 

 

 

Pool-
The aquatic center includes a 20’ by 40’ swimming pool, men’s and women’s bathhouse and a canteen area overlooking the river.  A certified lifeguard provided by the facility is included in this activity.

 

      

 

 

 

Canoeing/Kayaking-

Gasper River Catholic Retreat Center also offers Canoeing and kayaking

along one of the cleanest rivers in the state.

                                                                                                                      

 

 

 

Folkdancing-


Groups can get quite a workout while having a great time folkdancing.
