Summer Camp Descriptions

Please take a few minutes to look over what each camp has to offer.  All activities will be led by Gasper River Staff, who are trained in all adventure activities, lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR.  Each week of camp combines learning about the Catholic faith and experiencing thrilling adventures.  Prayerful experiences, such as Stations of the Cross and the Rosary Walk, will add new meaning to each camper's week as they celebrate the Sacraments in God’s creation.  This combination of faith, fun, and friends will lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the camper’s life-long adventure with God.

Explorer Camp (3rd & 4th graders):  Be prepared for an action packed half-week of camp.  The Explorer Camper, youth who will be entering the 3rd and 4th grades in the fall, will participate in lessons about their faith mixed in with swimming, arts & crafts, tubing and canoeing on the river, hiking, archery, team building games, parachute games and much more.  This is a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to explore what summer camp and their faith is all about.

Expedition Camp (5th & 6th graders):  Get set to take a week long expedition in adventure and faith.  The Expedition Camper, youth who will be entering the 5th and 6th grades in the fall, will participate in zip-line, low elements, team building games, hiking, archery, canoeing and tubing on the river, arts & crafts, and much, much more.  This week helps the youth grow in their life expedition through faith and fun.

Quest Camp (7th & 8th graders):  This week-long adventure combines learning about your faith and even more exciting adventure opportunities.  The Quest Camper, youth who will be entering the 7th and 8th grades in the fall, will participate in rappelling, low elements, zip-line, team building games, nature games, hiking, archery, canoeing and tubing on the river, arts & crafts and so many exciting experiences.  This week of camp will help the youth understand their faith and the exciting quest of living it out.

Camp L.I.F.E. (9th – 12th graders):  Live It For Eternity!  This week long camp experience provides many opportunities for young men and women, from incoming freshmen to just graduated seniors, to grow as people and to grow closer to God.  Large group time, small group time and personal time with God all take place in an ideal setting.  These campers will combine their faith with all the activities camp has to offer, such as kayaking, canoeing and tubing on the river, rappelling, zip-line, low elements, team building games, archery, hiking, nature games, team sports, arts & crafts, campfires, skits, and tons more.  This experience will help any young person live out their faith in ways they never thought possible before.

Eucharistic Life Camp (ages 18+):  Come and learn about your faith and put it into practice.  This camp, for those 18 years and older, will spend their days helping others in new and exciting ways.  Campers will complete service projects at camp and several sites around the city of Bowling Green.  Evenings will be spent sharing about the day, learning about their faith and participating in all the camp activities.  Come to this camp and not just talk about your faith, but put it into action!
