Meet the Staff

Ben Warrell, Director

I have been the director at Gasper River Catholic Youth Camp & Retreat Center since the start.  I was born in Tampa, grew up in Indianapolis and went to high school in Elizabethtown.  I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation with an emphasis on Parks and Recreation Administration.  I have over 20 years of Christian Camp experience.  I live at Gasper River with my wife and son.  I am very passionate about this ministry because my camp experience changed my life and I want that opportunity for other young people!

Pat Miller, Kitchen Manager

Became part of the Gasper River family in July 2016. Grew up in Chicago Illinois, now in Bowling Green, KY. Pat has received her Bachelors in Sociology, with minors in Religious Studies and Gerntology from WKU. Pat also received her Food Safety Certificate with Microprocessor License. I wanted to work at Gasper River because it lets me serve the Lord. I get to help nourish everyone who comes to Gasper River, watching people grow in their faith. Also getting to see a smile light up on their face is a great reward to me.

Crystal Coleman, Registrar

I’ve been a part of The Gasper River family since October 2014.  I started here in the kitchen and cleaning crew. Since August of 2015, I have been working as Camp Registrar and continue to help in other areas as well.

I am part of the Holy Trinity Parish in Morgantown with my husband and two children.  I am so blessed to be a part of this ministry, and I’m happy to be a part of the Gasper Family!

Olivia Romero, Program Director

I started coming to Gasper River as a camper in 2011. Since then I have been a counselor, staff member, and now the Program Director. I am originally from Paducah, KY and attended St. Mary High School. I received my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an Associates degree in Spanish from Thomas More College.

I am a member of St. Joseph Parish in Bowling Green. My time at Gasper River truly changed my life. I have seen firsthand the amazing work God does here and am blessed to be a part of this ministry.
